In-app coach

When setting your timings for your lesson activities you could receive prompt messages from the in-app coach. These are intended for guidance use to support you in working towards a ‘Student 1st’ lesson structure. You can choose to ignore or act upon the advice and when you change to the next activity for your lesson the coach will disappear.

In-app coach summary check

When you have completed creating your lesson plan and used the full time available, you will be offered the option of using the in-app coach to provide a summary of your lesson quality. The option is becomes available as a button in the bottom right corner of the app screen represented by 3 green ticks. Press this to receive your feedback that is intended as guidance to support you in working towards a ‘Student 1st’ lesson structure. You can chose to ignore or act upon this guidance by changing the structure of your lesson.

Using the custom resource feature

When selecting resources for your lesson you will be given the option to add a ‘Custom Resource’. Using this option will open a dialogue box asking you to add a short description of the task to be undertaken. This should be kept short, i.e. the title of the task to be undertaken. Additional detail can be added to the lesson plan once it has been exported as a Microsoft Word document, for example your own hyperlinks or description of the task to be undertaken.

Using the in-lesson timer

The app provides timers that will countdown the length of each activity and the full length of the lesson using a digital display. To access this function you must complete your lesson plan and ensure you have used the full time allocated. When you reach this point it will activate the timer play button which will appear at the base of the app. You can then press play to start the timer. The timer at the base of the app will countdown the full length of the lesson whilst each activity will also countdown in length. You can alter whether the timer counts down or up by going to the settings menu and changing the tick box provided.
