Sky High Questions

Students read the Sky High Question and underline the keywords. They then reflect on the question and generate a set of additional questions that the Sky High Question poses.

For this exercise your students will be posing additional questions in order to support answering the bigger sky high question.

Launch Resource

The first exercise is to underline or highlight the keywords.
The main task is to pose additional questions related to the sky high question. To do this students could use the keywords as starting points to base their questions upon. These questions could then be used as a reference point throughout the lesson.
As an additional exercise you could ask students to attempt to answer the question. This could then be revisited at a later point in the lesson to see if they were correct.
This exercise could be carried out as individuals, pairs or groups.
