Pyramids

Students are to read a piece of text. Then using the pyramid worksheet break the text down into headings and sub headings for use at a later point.

Support your pupils understanding by analysing chunks of text using a simple pyramid diagram to aid learning.

The aim of this exercise is for pupils to breakdown and analyse a piece of text.
Using the supplied worksheet, pupils will work through each of the 4 stages-
o Read the text
o Write the text title
o Break the text down into sub headings and write them down
o Write the meaning for each sub heading.
Pupils can then compare each other’s findings to peer assess.
The supplied worksheet can be photocopied to A3 size for more detailed analysis.
