Sky High Word Wall

Students read the Sky High Question and underline the keywords. They transfer the words onto a ‘word wall’ worksheet and then attempt to populate the rest of the wall with related words that come to mind.

For this exercise your students will be challenged to think of as many words associated to the sky high question as possible.

Launch Resource

The first exercise is to underline or highlight the keywords.
The main task is to use the keywords as a starting point and add any related words that students can think of. At this point the words they generate do not need to be constrained and the list could be refined as an activity later in the lesson.
As an additional exercise you could ask students to attempt to answer the question. This could then be revisited at a later point in the lesson to see if they were correct.
This exercise could be carried out as individuals or pairs.
