What’s the topic? GAP

Students are given a range of pictures (GAP signpost colours applied to identify the level of challenge). They are to decide what the topic of the lesson is as shown by the pictures.

Use a range of pictures which pupils have to figure out to introduce a new topic. Use class opinion to assess the findings.

The aim of this starter activity is for the pupils to identify the learning that will take place.
Pupils will need to be issued with a range of pictures related to the lesson content and will need to work out what the connection is.
To add additional challenge to this activity you could time it.
Once pupils have had time to look at the pictures they will then be randomly selected to feedback what they think. The class can then vote as to whether they agree.
Be aware that this is an activity designed to focus on the pupils and not teacher talk. Be concise in your explanation.
