Ask pupils to rotate around the room to visit and read statements related to the lesson and rank their understanding of them.

This is a simple, short exercise to assess pupils understanding as a class. Around the room place different statements related to the skills/learning which is taking place.
Ask pupils to read each statement and then tick if they feel confident with it.
You can then use the findings to either support individuals or groups. You could also hold a class discussion or use further activities to provide support on those areas which are weakest.
As this is a pupil led activity try to ensure any questioning is pupil focussed.
